The Sandomierz Wine Trail is one of the best-organized wine tourism routes in Poland. It combines winemaking traditions dating back to the 13th century with a modern offer for tourists and wine lovers. It was here that Dominican monks planted the region’s first vines in 1226, and by the Middle Ages, Sandomierz wine was being exported across Europe. Today, the region is once again gaining recognition for its quality and hospitality.
Royal and Pepper Trails – Two Faces of the Route
The Sandomierz Wine Trail currently includes 9 vineyards, divided into two themed paths:
- The Royal Trail – a 26 km route from Sandomierz to Klimontów, featuring 6 vineyards located closest to the city.
- The Pepper Trail – a shorter 5.6 km route through the ancient Pepper Mountains, Poland’s oldest mountain range, with 3 vineyards.
It’s a perfect choice for both a day trip and a full weekend with overnight stays and tastings.
