A few days after the official announcement of results, we present a summary of TUCHOVINICONTEST 2024. This year, in the eighth edition of the contest, Polish producers won a total of 74 medals – clearly fewer than in 2023, when as many as 124 were awarded. Despite the smaller number of distinctions, there were still remarkable results and some strong comebacks to the podium.
Competition statistics
- Total medals: 74;
- Grand Gold medal: 1 (Muscaris from Winnica Opole – 93.33 pts, awarded Champion as the best Polish wine and best semi-dry white of the contest);
- Gold medals: 31;
- Silver medals: 42.
Top-awarded wineries
- Winnica Equus – 7 awards;
- Winnica Amelie – 5 awards;
- Winnica Dąbrówka, Winnica Pałac Minoga – 4 awards each;
- Winnica Zagardle, Winnica Pod Jabłonią, Winnica Słowianki, Winnica Alabaster – 3 awards each.
This was the best result so far for Winnica Equus in the history of the competition. Meanwhile, Winnica Amelie returned to the podium of the most awarded wineries after a two-year break.
Champion and collection awards
In addition to medals, the contest also grants special titles: Champion (best wine overall) and Best Wine Collection (for participants submitting at least three samples). In 2024, the Champion title went to the Muscaris from Winnica Opole.
What do this year’s results mean?
Even with fewer medals year-on-year, the quality remains undeniable – with the 35% limit, competition was especially fierce, and medal thresholds stayed high. For consumers, this is a clear sign that the awarded wines have real comparative value.
Congratulations to the winners!
We warmly congratulate all the awarded wineries and wish them continued success – both in future editions of TUCHOVINICONTEST and at other international competitions.
