A few days after the official announcement of results, we present a summary of TUCHOVINICONTEST 2024. This year, in the eighth edition of the contest, Polish producers won a total of 74 medals – clearly fewer than in 2023, when as many as 124 were awarded. Despite the smaller number of distinctions, there were still remarkable results and some strong comebacks to the podium.
Winnica Pałac Minoga
Pałac Minoga Vineyard is a regional, palace-associated establishment located in Minoga, in the heart of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, near Kraków, Ojców, and Skała. The vineyard covers an area of 4 hectares and continues the agricultural traditions of the area, where plants, fruits, and vegetables have been cultivated for centuries. Grape varieties such as Marechal Foch, Regent, Leon Millot, Solaris, and Seyval Blanc are grown here. The wines mature in French oak barrels, and the production process takes place in the cellars of a historic granary from 1898, giving them a unique character. The vineyard also offers tastings combined with tours of the beautiful palace garden.
HISTORY OF Winnica Pałac Minoga
The idea of establishing a vineyard at Pałac Minoga emerged in 2015. After selecting a suitable plot and preparing the soil, vine cultivation began in 2017. The first harvest took place in 2019, marking the debut vintage of the wines. The vineyard was incorporated into the Małopolska Wine Route in 2023, reflecting its growing significance on the Polish winemaking scene.
