Winnica Amonit

Amonit Vineyard is a small, family-run winery located in the village of Cianowice, approximately 20 km north of Krakow, within the buffer zone of the Ojców National Park. Situated on the southern slope of the Korzkiewka Valley, at an elevation of about 400 meters above sea level, it benefits from the region's characteristic limestone rendzina soil. Owners Joanna Spałek-Niemiec and Marcin Niemiec passionately cultivate grape varieties such as Johanniter, Solaris, Cserszegi Fűszeres (white) and Regent, Léon Millot, and Cabernet Cortis (red). Wines from Amonit Vineyard have gained recognition at numerous tastings and wine competitions, and since the 2018 vintage, they have been available for purchase both on-site and in select Krakow restaurants.

HISTORY OF Winnica Amonit

Marcin Niemiec began his winemaking journey in 2008 by planting a few rows of grapevines near his home, initially as an experiment to assess the suitability of the location for viticulture. Encouraged by promising results, the vineyard's area was expanded to 0.45 hectares in 2011. The name "Amonit" refers to the marine fossils found in the Jurassic limestones of this region. In subsequent years, the vineyard expanded its operations, and in 2013, it was incorporated into the Małopolska Wine Trail. Since the 2018 vintage, the vineyard has been conducting registered commercial activities, and its wines are available for sale.
