The Lower Silesian Beer and Wine Trail is a route connecting local craft breweries and vineyards, officially established in 2018 as an initiative of the Stowarzyszenie Winnice Dolnośląskie (Lower Silesian Vineyards Association) and the Dolnośląskie Stowarzyszenie Browarów Rzemieślniczych (Lower Silesian Craft Breweries Association), supported by the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
Winnica Agat
Winnica Agat is located in Sokołowiec, in the Świerzawa municipality, Lower Silesia. It is situated at an altitude of 320–330 meters above sea level, on the slope of an extinct volcano from approximately 300 million years ago. The vineyard's soil is rich in minerals such as agates, amethysts, and rock crystals. Currently, the vineyard covers an area of about 1.6 hectares, cultivating grape varieties including Riesling, Johanniter, Solaris, Pinot Gris, Rondo, Regent, and Cabernet Cortis. The vineyard offers tours and wine tastings by prior arrangement. Additionally, workshops on winemaking and themed dinners with wine are conducted on the premises.
HISTORY OF Winnica Agat
Winnica Agat was established in 2007 by Teresa Kucharska and Paweł Góźdź, who acquired an old Sudeten house with the intention of opening an agritourism farm and creating a mineral museum. The initial plantings included various grape varieties to test their adaptation to local conditions. Over time, the vineyard expanded to its current size. The vineyard's name derives from agate, a mineral abundantly found in the area.
