Winnica Nad Dworskim Potokiem

Winnica Nad Dworskim Potokiem is a university vineyard belonging to the Agricultural Experimental Station of the Jagiellonian University, located in the village of Łazy in Lesser Poland. It covers an area of 3.3 hectares, cultivating both white and red grape varieties. The white varieties include Bianca, Seyval Blanc, Jutrzenka, Hibernal, and Solaris, while the red varieties are represented by Regent and Rondo. The vineyard's offerings include white wines—dry, semi-dry, and semi-sweet—red dry wines, and an ice wine, Vidal Blanc, characterized by exceptional sweetness and aromas of honey and candied fruits. Wines from this vineyard have received numerous international and national awards, and the vineyard was incorporated into the Lesser Poland Wine Route in 2013.

HISTORY OF Winnica Nad Dworskim Potokiem

Winnica Nad Dworskim Potokiem was established in 2004 at the initiative of the then Vice-Rector of the Jagiellonian University, Professor Karol Musioł, who was inspired by vineyards belonging to leading European universities. The first grapevines were planted in April 2005 on an area of 0.3 hectares, and in subsequent years, the plantation was expanded to its current size of 3.3 hectares. The first grape harvest took place in 2006, and since 2009, the vineyard has had permission for commercial wine production in Poland. The vineyard sells its wines both on-site at the vineyard's store and in selected partner stores in Bochnia and Kraków.
