The Lower Silesian Beer and Wine Trail is a route connecting local craft breweries and vineyards, officially established in 2018 as an initiative of the Stowarzyszenie Winnice Dolnośląskie (Lower Silesian Vineyards Association) and the Dolnośląskie Stowarzyszenie Browarów Rzemieślniczych (Lower Silesian Craft Breweries Association), supported by the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
Winnica Rius
Rius Vineyard is a family winery located near Polkowice, in the area of Ułanów village, Lower Silesia. It was founded by Roman Fabjanowski, and its focus is on traditional winemaking methods, emphasizing the natural expression of the site.
The vines are grown on light, sandy soils that contribute to the minerality and lightness of their wines. Rius offers a variety of wine styles — white, red, rosé, including sparkling and natural wines (such as orange and sur lie) among them.
HISTORY OF Winnica Rius
The Rius project began in 2016, when Roman Fabjanowski planted the first vines around Ułanów. The winery was officially registered in 2021.
The vineyard occupies about 5 hectares, which allows for experimentation and diversity in wine styles. Both classic vitis vinifera and hybrid grape varieties are cultivated.
Rius is part of the Lower Silesian Beer and Wine Trail, integrating into regional efforts to promote winemaking tourism. The winery hosts tastings and events where the owner shares stories and insights into wine production.
