Two Polish Wineries Awarded in the Autumn Edition of PIWI Wine Award International 2024

Medals of PIWI Wine Award International 2024 Edition

The autumn edition of the PIWI Wine Award International 2024 brought reasons to celebrate for Polish winemakers. Two Polish wineries were among the winners, collecting a total of four medals — two gold and two silver — across various categories of white, red and sparkling wines. This marks another occasion this year where Polish winemaking has proven its ability to compete with Europe’s best in the field of PIWI wines.

About the Competition and the Autumn 2024 Edition

The PIWI Wine Award International is one of the most prestigious competitions dedicated to wines made from fungus-resistant grape varieties (PIWIs). The autumn 2024 edition gathered 145 wines submitted by producers from 12 countries. A jury of international wine experts awarded 20 wines with the highest distinction.

Polish Achievements

The following Polish wineries were awarded:

  • Winnica Dom Jantoń – 1 gold medal and 2 silver medals;
  • Winnica pod Jabłonią – 1 gold medal for its Solaris Oaked wine, which achieved an impressive 95 points, one of the top scores in the entire competition.

It’s worth to mention that this is the first time when Winnica pod Jabłonią is being recognized in this prestigious competition — a milestone achievement for them.

Consistency in Polish Performance

This marks the second time this year that Polish wineries have taken home four medals in a PIWI Wine Award International edition — matching the results from the spring 2024 edition, which also brought in two gold and two silver medals. This consistency signals the steady progress and growing reputation of Poland in the field of PIWI wine production. By comparison, no Polish winery received an award in the autumn 2023 edition of the competition.

Congratulations and Hopes for the Future

We sincerely congratulate all the awarded wineries and their teams. We wish them continued success — and hopefully even greater achievements — in future editions of the PIWI Wine Award International!
