Warsaw is the largest city in Poland – home to about 1.86 million people, with over 3.2 million in the wider metropolitan area. The city attracts many domestic and international tourists. For anyone looking to combine a city break with a taste of Polish wine, we’ve prepared a list of vineyards reachable within a half-day or full-day trip from Warsaw Central Station.

Departing by car in the morning, you can visit one or several estates, enjoy local tastings, and return to Warsaw the same day. Because many smaller vineyards do not yet keep regular opening hours, it’s best to call ahead and schedule your visit – otherwise, you may arrive to find no one on site.   • Winnica Zafoni (ca. 0:39h by car)
    Zafoni Vineyard is located in Michrów, in the Masovian Voivodeship. It specializes in the production of natural wines, juices, and fruits. The wines are characterized by rich fruit aromas, such as cherries in chocolate, plums, forest berries, ripe blackberries, and raspberries, complemented by notes from French oak barrels. In 2024, the Solaris wine from this vineyard won a silver medal at the Polish Wine Competition WINOPL Poznań. [map]
  • Winnica Dwórzno (ca. 0:43h by car)
    Dwórzno Winery is the largest vineyard in the Mazovia region and one of the largest in Poland, located just 40 km from Warsaw. It extends over 9 hectares and the entire farm covers 50 hectares, where grapes and fruits such as raspberries, blackcurrant and kamchatka berry are grown.

    The range includes both grape wines, including the popular single-varietal johanniter and solaris, and fruit wines - produced using traditional methods from locally grown crops. The winery is renowned for its diversity of styles, from classic whites and reds to sparkling pét-nats and orange wines. The wines are created under the supervision of renowned oenologist Piotr Stopczyński.

    The Dwórzno vineyard is also an important oenotourism destination, offering tours with tastings and the organisation of events. Highlights include the annual Wine Festival, summer jazz picnics and even winter walruses in wine vats.   • Winnica Pałac Mała Wieś (ca. 0:45h by car)
    Pałac Mała Wieś Vineyard is located in the Masovian Voivodeship, in the village of Mała Wieś, Belsk Duży commune. It covers 22 hectares, making it the largest vineyard in the region. Both vitis vinifera varieties, such as Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Gris, and climate-resistant hybrids like Solaris, Muscaris, Johanniter, Hibernal, Roesler, Cabernet Cortis, Cantor, and Regent are cultivated here.

    The first harvest took place in 2024, yielding 80 tons of grapes. Wines are produced on-site in a modern winery. The offer includes tastings led by sommeliers, vineyard walks, and wine courses.

    Winnica Biały Kruk is located in Barcice Drwalewskie, in the Chynów municipality, approximately 40 kilometers south of Warsaw. It covers an area of 0.3 hectares, with 700 grapevines cultivated. White varieties include Seyval Blanc, Solaris, and Jutrzenka, while red varieties comprise Regent, Cabernet Cortis, Marquette, and Muscat Blue.     Mazovia Winery is one of the oldest vineyards in Mazovia, located in the village of Biejkowska Wola on the banks of the Pilica River. Its location, just a few dozen minutes from Warsaw, makes it easily accessible to both wine lovers and tourists looking for a new oenotourism experience.

    Mazovia grows both classic grape varieties such as Seyval Blanc, Solaris and Regent, as well as less common varietals such as Rkatsiteli, Nero, Mstvane and Kisi. The winery specialises in cuvée wines, which are made from a blend of different grape varieties to create unique flavour compositions. The range includes white, red and orange wines, including the standout Karva - a wine created using the Kakheti method from Caucasian grape varieties.

    Visitors can learn about the history of winemaking in Mazovia, walk among the vines and taste local wines during tastings combined with refreshments. The Mazovia winery cultivates the region's winemaking traditions, referring to the historical cultivation of grapes on the Pilica River, which existed here as early as the 16th century.     Natale Vineyard is located in the Łódź Voivodeship, in the village of Łasieczniki, near Bolimów and Nieborów. The vineyard covers an area of 0.89 hectares. Cultivated grape varieties include Léon Millot and Seyval Blanc. Production includes the semi-dry red wine Kara, the semi-dry white wine Rosa, and three types of sparkling wines: Brut, Extra Brut, and Brut Nature, produced using the traditional method. Wines are available on-site and through phone or email contact. The vineyard offers tours, tastings, event organization for groups up to 30 people, and collaboration with restaurants and shops.
