The 30th edition of the prestigious international wine competition MUVINA, held in mid-June 2025 in Prešov, Slovakia, brought a historic success for Polish wineries. This year’s edition featured 329 wines from 10 countries, primarily from Central and Eastern Europe, but also from Germany, Italy, and others.
Nine Medals for Poland – Including Two Grand Golds!
Polish winemaking achieved its best-ever result in the history of the MUVINA competition. Out of 19 Polish entries, as many as 9 wines received medals. This marks a significant improvement over previous years – for comparison, in 2024 Polish winemakers won 5 silver medals, while the previous record was 6 medals in the 2023 edition.
Especially noteworthy are the two Grand Gold Medals, awarded to wines scoring between 93 and 100 points. In addition, seven Honourable Silver Medals were awarded to wines scoring between 85 and 89 points.
Medals for Five Polish Wineries
This year, the MUVINA jury awarded medals to the following producers:
- Winnica Libiąż – 3 medals;
- Winnica Rodzinna Ćwielong-Olszewski – 2 medals;
- Winnica Suchogórska – 2 medals;
- Winnica Kmiecia – 1 medal;
- Winnica Talaska – 1 medal.
Grand Gold for Cabernet Sauvignon Sur Lie
A special mention goes to the intriguing Winnica Suchogórska, which despite having little online presence, impressed the judges with its Cabernet Sauvignon Sur Lie, scoring a remarkable 94.67 points and earning a Grand Gold Medal. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement!
Polish Wine Quality on the Rise
This year’s results confirm the growing quality and international recognition of Polish wines. We look forward to the next edition of MUVINA – and hopefully, even more medals for Poland!
