Winnica Marcus
Winnica Marcus is located in Sterków, Lubusz Voivodeship, approximately 30 kilometers southwest of Zielona Góra. It covers an area of 2 hectares, cultivating grape varieties such as Riesling, Hibernal, Pinot Noir, Regent, and Dornfelder. The vineyard specializes in producing natural wines, including white, red, and orange wines. The production process involves no added sulfur, utilizing wild yeasts, without filtration or clarification. Wines ferment under natural conditions, without temperature control. The winery is housed in a converted barn, and the tasting room is located in a transformed 100-year-old barn with an adjoining terrace and garden. The vineyard offers tastings for groups of up to 20 people, by prior arrangement.
HISTORY OF Winnica Marcus
Winnica Marcus was established in 2009 by Marek Bandiak. The first grapevine plantings took place in April 2009. The vineyard is situated on elevations forming the westernmost part of the Zielona Góra Ridge, at altitudes ranging from 130 to 160 meters above sea level. The soil has a post-glacial composition, consisting of sand and clay in varying proportions. From the outset, the vineyard has focused on producing natural wines without chemical intervention. Wines ferment using wild yeasts, without sulfur addition, filtration, or clarification. In 2017, one of the vineyard's wines received a silver medal at the 8th National Wine Competition in Zielona Góra.
