Winnica Jaworek
Winnice Jaworek is one of the largest vineyards in Poland, founded in 2001 by Ewa and Lech Jaworek. It is located in Miękinia in Lower Silesia, where wine-making traditions date back to the 13th century. Crops cover 18.5 hectares and varieties include riesling, pinot noir, pinot gris, gewürztraminer, cabernet sauvignon and regent.
The winery is famous for its diverse wines, ranging from light whites to barrel-aged reds. In addition to wine, it produces meads and fruit distillates. The production process is based on manual harvesting and traditional fermentation methods.
In addition to wine-making activities, Jaworek Vineyards offers oenotourism - cellar tours, tastings and workshops. There is a restaurant and a hotel on the premises of the historic manor house. The winery has won numerous distinctions, including a certificate from the European Regional Culinary Heritage Network Lower Silesia and awards at international competitions.
HISTORY OF Winnica Jaworek
Ewa and Lech Jaworek founded their vineyard in 2001, choosing Miękinia - a place with a long history of grape growing. The first harvest took place in 2003, and in the following years the vineyard became one of the largest in the country. Lech Jaworek was the first in Poland to cultivate riesling, pinot noir and pinot gris.
In 2006, Jaworek wines were included on the Ministry of Agriculture's list of Traditional Products, and in 2012 the vineyard was certified by the European Regional Culinary Heritage Network. In addition to wine production, the owners restored an 18th-century manor house, creating an oenotourism centre with a restaurant and hotel.
By combining modern winemaking with the traditions of Lower Silesia, the Jaworek Vineyards have become an important point on the map of Polish winemaking and part of the Lower Silesian Culinary Trail.
