Winnica Gierowa
Gierowa Vineyard is located in Janowice, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, on the southwestern slopes of a hill, at elevations ranging from 335 to 355 meters above sea level. The vineyard covers 0.62 hectares, divided into two plots, including terraces formed on a landslide area from 2010. It is surrounded by a 0.6-hectare cherry orchard.
Grape varieties cultivated include Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir Précoce, Monarch, Saint Pepin, Bianka, Solaris, Seyval Blanc, Jutrzenka, Muscaris, Souvignier Gris, Sauvignac, Cabaret Noir, and Pinotin.
The vineyard offers guided tastings for individuals and groups, with the possibility of organizing special events. On-site facilities include a gazebo with a fire pit and grill, accommodating up to 30 people. Over 100 dessert grape varieties are cultivated for collection purposes.
HISTORY OF Winnica Gierowa
Gierowa Vineyard was established in 2014 by Grzegorz Gondek on family-owned land in Janowice. Initial plantings covered approximately 0.4 hectares, including varieties such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir Précoce, Riesling, Traminer, and Elbling. In 2019, the cultivation area was expanded by an additional 0.2 hectares. In 2021, new varieties were planted: Cabaret Noir, Pinotin, and Sauvignac.
Wine production takes place in adapted facilities located about 400 meters from the vineyard. Since 2021, the vineyard has been engaged in registered commercial production.
