Winnica Św. Jana
Saint John's Vineyard is located in Przybysławice, Zielonki commune, Lesser Poland Voivodeship. It is situated on the western slope of Lipowiec hill, at an altitude of approximately 310–330 meters above sea level. The vineyard covers 0.6 hectares, cultivating over 2,600 grapevines. Cultivated grape varieties include: Solaris, Swenson Red, Leon Millot, Marechal Foch, Regent, Johanniter, Jutrzenka, and Seyval Blanc.
Wines are produced at a processing facility located in Maszyce, a few kilometers from the vineyard. The range includes white, red, and rosé wines, both single-varietal and blends.
The vineyard is a member of the Krakow Jura Winemakers Association and was included in the Lesser Poland Wine Route in 2019.
HISTORY OF Winnica Św. Jana
Saint John's Vineyard was established by Anna and Dariusz Kufta. The initial preparatory work began on December 27, 2013, on the feast day of Saint John the Evangelist. In May 2014, the first seedlings of Solaris, Swenson Red, Leon Millot, Marechal Foch, and Regent were planted. In autumn 2014 and spring 2015, additional varieties Johanniter, Jutrzenka, and Seyval Blanc were added. In total, over 2,600 vines were planted on an area of 0.6 hectares.
Wine production takes place at a processing facility located in the Kufta family's home in Maszyce. The first wines from the vineyard were produced in the 2016 vintage and received positive feedback. The 2017 vintage was officially released for sale.
