Gdansk (Gdańsk) is one of Poland’s biggest and most visited cities – in 2023 it set a new tourism record by welcoming 4.1 million guests, an increase of 400,000 compared to 2022. Together with Gdynia and Sopot, it forms the Tricity metropolitan area, which has around 1,080,700 inhabitants. Due to its northern location and prevailing climatic conditions, the region hosts only a few registered wineries in the “Northern Poland” wine region. For those wishing to combine sightseeing in this exceptional city with discovering Polish winemaking, we’ve prepared a list of vineyards reachable within a half-day or full-day trip starting from Gdańsk Główny railway station.
Departing by car in the morning, you can visit one or several vineyards, enjoy a pleasant time with a glass of wine, and return to the city the same day (perhaps for further tasting at one of the many wine bars). Because many smaller vineyards do not yet maintain regular opening hours, it’s best to call ahead and schedule your visit—otherwise, you may arrive to find no one on site. Contact details are available on each vineyard’s page on our portal.
