Winnica Wieliczka

Winnica Wieliczka is an organic winery located in Pawlikowice, just three kilometers south of Wieliczka in the Małopolska region. Situated on the southern and southwestern slopes of Laskowiec Hill, at an altitude ranging from 315 to 380 meters above sea level, the vineyard benefits from favorable conditions for viticulture. The clay-sandy soil and the protection provided by forests to the north facilitate the cultivation of demanding grape varieties. Spanning 15 hectares, the vineyard cultivates noble Vitis vinifera varieties such as Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Merlot. Winnica Wieliczka is a certified organic farm that adheres to biodynamic principles, eschewing chemical pesticides in favor of natural preparations that support ecosystem balance and plant resilience.

HISTORY OF Winnica Wieliczka

Winnica Wieliczka was established in 2013 by Agnieszka Rousseau and Piotr Jaskóła. Agnieszka Rousseau, an experienced oenologist with over 20 years in the field, earned the prestigious Diplôme National d'Onologue from the University of Montpellier in France. She has worked as a wine consultant in various countries, including France, New Zealand, Australia, Switzerland, India, Russia, and Romania. Piotr Jaskóła, a graduate of the Faculty of Forestry at the Agricultural University in Krakow, is an ecological enthusiast with experience in managing vineyards in Silesia. Together, they aimed to create a vineyard based on biodynamic and ecological principles. The initial plantings included 8,000 vines of varieties such as Chardonnay, Riesling, Merlot, and Cabernet. In subsequent years, the vineyard expanded to over 20,000 vines, incorporating varieties like Pinot Noir, Muscat, and Grüner Veltliner. Winnica Wieliczka has become one of the most innovative wine projects in Poland, offering not only high-quality wines but also enotourism and educational programs.
