Winnica Koniusza
Koniusza Vineyard is located in the village of Łyszkowice, Koniusza commune, Lesser Poland Voivodeship. It is situated on the southwestern slope of the Proszowicki Plateau, at an altitude of approximately 280–290 meters above sea level. The substrate consists of a loess layer 0.6–1.5 meters thick on limestone rubble.
The vineyard covers an area of approximately 0.7 hectares. Cultivated grape varieties include: Solaris, Johanniter, Bianca, Seyval Blanc, Jutrzenka, Muscat, Rondo, Regent, Léon Millot, Maréchal Foch, Zweigelt, and Cabernet Cortis.
Wines are produced at the winery located adjacent to the vineyard. The range includes white, red, and rosé wines, mainly blends. White and rosé wines ferment and mature in stainless steel tanks, while red wines additionally age in Hungarian oak barrels.
The vineyard offers on-site wine sales and supplies selected outlets in Kraków. Wine tastings and vineyard tours are available by prior arrangement.
HISTORY OF Winnica Koniusza
In 2006, Andrzej Płyś established Koniusza Vineyard by planting the first 100 grapevines on an area of 0.01 hectares. In the same year, he participated in the "Małopolska Vineyards" training program organized by the Małopolska Regional Development Agency, which included courses in viticulture and winemaking at the wine school in Klosterneuburg near Vienna.
In subsequent years, the vineyard was gradually expanded, reaching its current area of approximately 0.7 hectares. In 2017, Koniusza Vineyard was included in the Lesser Poland Wine Route.
