The official results of the 9th edition of the Polskie Korki competition have just been published. This year’s contest was held in nine categories, and the list of finalists (three in each category) as well as the three winners—gold, silver, and bronze cork recipients—has been announced.
Winnica Kamil Barczentewicz
Kamil Barczentewicz Vineyard is a family-owned winery located in the village of Dobre, in the Małopolski Przełom Wisły region, near Kazimierz Dolny and Janowiec. It covers an area of 12 hectares on south-facing slopes with marl-limestone-clay geology, favorable for vine cultivation. The vineyard predominantly cultivates noble Vitis vinifera varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Blaufränkisch, complemented by hybrids like Souvignier Gris, Cabernet Cortis, and Regent. The vineyard places great emphasis on environmental care, conducting cultivation with respect for the ecosystem. Wines are produced with attention to reflecting the unique terroir, utilizing vinification techniques in concrete eggs, oak vats, and barrels.
HISTORY OF Winnica Kamil Barczentewicz
The vineyard was established in 2017 by Kamil Barczentewicz, who gained experience in vineyards in Austria, Chile, Italy, and France, where he studied winemaking at the prestigious Bordeaux Sciences Agro. Since its inception, the vineyard has been developing dynamically, and the wines produced have gained recognition in the market, enjoying significant consumer interest. The 2022 vintage, the fourth in the vineyard's history, has been assessed as the best so far, indicating the growing quality and reputation of its products.
