The results of the 11th edition of the Polish Wine Competition Jasło 2024 have been announced. This year, the jury awarded a total of 117 medals to professional wineries and 8 prizes to amateur wineries.
Winnica Łany
Łany Vineyard is a family winery located on a south-west facing slope of a hill in the Biała district (now part of Rzeszów), at an elevation of about 260-280 m above sea level. The vineyard features terrace-style plantings, and protection from north and east winds by the hill and surrounding forest contributes to a distinctive microclimate. It has a wine cellar hewn into the hillside with three chambers used for wine maturation. Production is carried out on a scale sufficient for tastings and external distribution. Łany is part of the local wine trails in the Podkarpacie region.
HISTORY OF Winnica Łany
Łany Vineyard was founded in 2007. Initially, it spanned approximately 0.5 hectare, with vine plantings established on three terraces on the slope. In 2008, about 1,500 vines were planted and terraces established. In 2009, a 100-metre-long cellar with three chambers was carved into the hillside.
The owner later added more grape varieties, including Chardonnay, Traminer, Palava, among others. Its wines are also distributed through selected stores. Visitors — individuals or groups — can tour the vineyard and participate in tastings by prior arrangement with the owner.
