Winnica Zawadka
Zawadka Vineyard is located in the village of Zawadka, Łososina Dolna commune, Lesser Poland Voivodeship. It is situated on a south-eastern slope at an elevation of approximately 400 meters above sea level, near Lake Rożnów. The soil is stony-clay. The vineyard covers an area of 2 hectares. Grape varieties cultivated include Bianca, Bolero, Chardonnay, Hibernal, Johanniter, Maréchal Foch, Monarch, Muscaris, Regent, Riesling, Rondo, Roesler, and Solaris. The vineyard practices cultivation without the use of herbicides and systemic plant protection products. Wine production takes place in a repurposed former fruit storage building, using stainless steel tanks and used French barrels. The vineyard offers tours and tastings for groups up to 30 people by prior arrangement. On-site wine sales are available. The vineyard is cyclist and caravan-friendly. Since 2018, it has held a license for the production of sacramental wine.
HISTORY OF Winnica Zawadka
Zawadka Vineyard was established in 2009 by Szymon and Barbara Maziarz. Initially, it covered 0.4 hectares, with annual additions of 100–200 vines. In 2018, the area was expanded by 1,500 vines, reaching 2 hectares. In 2016, official wine production was registered, and in 2017, wine sales began. Since 2018, the vineyard has held a license for the production of sacramental wine for the Tarnów diocese. In 2019, it was included in the European Network of Regional Culinary Heritage. The vineyard is located on a 2.5-hectare family orchard farm. Most vineyard work is done manually.
