Winnica Avra
Winnica Avra is a family-owned vineyard nestled among orchards near Szydłów, often referred to as the Polish Carcassonne. This picturesque area lies between the Ponidzie region and the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, offering tranquility and charm. The vineyard spans 1.12 hectares at an elevation of 225 meters above sea level, situated on loamy-sandy soil with natural sulfur water streams. Cultivated grape varieties include Regent, Rondo, Zweigelt, Solaris, Seyval Blanc, Muscaris, Riesling, and Bianca. The vineyard is managed entirely organically, with most tasks performed manually, and each grape cluster meticulously selected during harvest. This approach results in high-quality wines produced using only natural vinification methods.
HISTORY OF Winnica Avra
Winnica Avra was established by Elżbieta and Tomasz Woźniak, who, enchanted by the area and inspired by the Greek climate where they spent several years, decided to found the vineyard here. The first vines were planted in 2012, with the inaugural wine produced in 2015. In 2016, additional vines were planted, allowing for expanded production. Wines from Winnica Avra have gained recognition in international competitions; notably, the rosé wine Alpeviol 2023 received a gold medal and the Champion title at the International Wine Competition Galicja Vitis 2024. The vineyard offers tours and wine tastings throughout the year by prior arrangement.
